These rich guys are not pure blooded filipinos. Most of them chinese and other spanish.
I doubt on stories w/ some them telling rags to riches. Mga chinese sp. from hongkong pa nga pumupunta dito sa tin to work and do bisnis. Gusto kaagad get rich. As in madalian.
Not all filipinos but sadly, nowadays, marami na. Kaya its too late for us na humabol pa sa mga taong yan na nasa itaas.

Tayo nakikikain nlang at namamasukan nlang.
Kaya po wag kayo magtaka if in the future, maaga din kayo iwanan ng mga anak nyo kasi ganun na din naramdaman nila sa inyo when you start to work abroad. Masarap pero may consequence din na masakit tanggapin in the future…

  7. asheyla jade on January 1st, 2008 at 9:48 am

Tama ang madami nakakainggit ang pwesto nila and we always wish that we’re on the same chair… hm imbes na mainggit lets follow their footsteps malay natin umunlad din ang buhay ng bawat Pinoy.

  10. la sallian on January 16th, 2008 at 4:15 pm

i really inspired those people.nasa tao kasi yan, if he/she want a change in his/her life it could be with his/her determination and hard work to achieve what he/she wanted to his/her life.

  11. clay on January 20th, 2008 at 10:59 am

i believe these rich filipinos have atittudes beyond the normal people. because for me, it takes atittude for anyone to achieve success in life though we may never know the true meaning of success. for success may be having a lot of money for many of us, but it could mean another thing for some. these people are way beyond ordinary people, for they were able to surpass great things in their lives.and so they reap the fruit of their hard works. i think we, the so called “masang filipino” must begin to realize that we must have atittudes like these rich men have if we want to have better lives. we just have to learn how to stop looking to others fault and start finding ours. and we should also practice discipline like these great men didd in order for us to achieve something. after all, it is our next generation who will suffer the stupidity we are doing now. but it is never too late, we have to wake up from our insanity and move forward and i mean move fast, so that we could still save what could be saved. thanks… GOD BLESS THE PHILIPPINES!!!!!!!

  12. hunter on January 31st, 2008 at 5:55 pm

Personally, I don’t think that having attained the success they have now has something to do w/ blood. True, almost all of them doesn’t even have a single drop of Filipino Blood. But does it matter?

They chose Philippines as the land where they will live until the end. Stories of rags to riches are true. But sometimes hard to believe, despite of what we are seeing today.

Since almost all of them started after the war (that’s where the luck and timing comes in). But the question is, if the war affected all of us, why only a handful rose up to the challenge and brought home the bacon?

Also if it’s in the blood, why not all Chinese and Spanish decent living in the country rich? How come do I see Chinese people jobless in Chinatown in Binondo? Always when we meet a Chinese, our impression on them is that they are ‘kuripot’ and ‘rich’. And why should that be? ‘Kuripot’ maybe because of being thrift and practicing the Confucianism way of life, but rich? Never generalize.

In my opinion, the people mentioned above does not have to be non-Filipino in blood just to be rich. Since they are living w/ us here in the country since long time ago, me thinks that they have also adopted to our culture, dialect and language and the likes. It’s perseverance and the knack of saving their hard earned money.

They also believe a lot in us, Filipino. For they invest millions of dollars/peso back into our country, not only to make more money, but expressing signs of confidence that one day we can beat China, Japan, Europe, Middle East, and the US of A in terms of wealth.

I just do hope that our country is not that too late to change for the better. Eradicate the ’states-side mentality’, and develop patriotism in our very own country. That’s the hardest part to change w/ the way globalism is going on nowadays.
If they can do it with only shear dreams and daring guts, why can’t we?

“Money is not the root of all evils as to what they imply, but the LOVE OF MONEY is.”

  14. milton on February 7th, 2008 at 5:58 am

sooo… amazing talaga…i really believe in their commitment, determanation in life but i DON’T want to believe in LUCKY or swerte….kc alam nyo God blessed those people who put faith in Him, at di ko sinasabi na lahat sila believer, even Satan able to bless people….kaya lang alam nyo may general rule kc sa Bible eh,kung ano ang tinanim mo yun ang aanihin mo,,so kung katamaran ang itinamin mo wala kang aanihin kung kagandahan ng loob ang itinanim mo maganda rin ang aanihin mo….diba…its all about you and God lang talaga.,and God had a purpose why He gave that to them so that they can share and help people through blessing…oo sasabihin mo your sowing goddness naman but untill now your still hirap pa sa buhay, that is why i told you na its all about you and God…

  15. milton on February 7th, 2008 at 6:07 am

maraming comment sa taas,,about success…..about sa lucky daw???…..blood ……education…..knowledge…ay naku yung mga billionaire nga mga di nga nakatapus eh, GOd is able to give you much much money……and God also can take out away from you…God bless nalang sa inyo…peace…

  20. claire on March 20th, 2008 at 3:44 am

are you seriously telling me that the chinese had it easy?
haha. you were obviously sleeping during history lessons.
you lazy filipinos are now wealthy (ayala, zobel, etc) because u were allowed to buy land during the 16th century, while the chinese were not. kami yung inalipin. hence, we had to resort to trading and businesses.
before you pass rumors as information, check your facts.

gokongwei’s networth is at 860. he’s supposed to be on the list.

  21. Edrian on March 29th, 2008 at 9:43 am

Wow!!!!

  22. jarcas on April 3rd, 2008 at 11:57 am

Yun n! :)

  23. Mike_Portnoy on April 15th, 2008 at 11:38 am

  26. Majds on August 18th, 2008 at 9:02 pm

Turo dito turo dun.

  27. young pinoy ngosyante on August 21st, 2008 at 12:22 pm

ang masasabi ko lang wala sa goverment natin ang kapalaranan ng buhay natin kung umasa kayo sa govermnt at wala kayong gnagawa or trabaho do u think yayaman ang bansa natin at sasabay ka sa pag yaman ng bansa natin.. kaya kayong reklamo ng reklamo dyan gumawa kayo ng mga bagay bagay na pwede nyong pag kakitaan,, u dont need lots of money to start business or anything.. when i am much younger i thought lots of things like business and to be rich some day and now i am capable to start it and now i have it and starting making money with my own and helping my parents.. ung sabi ng mga pinakamayamn na galing sila sa hiram maybe totoo coz being poor dun mo masaasbi sa sarili mo na aangat ang buhay mo at ng family mo at u will not let ur life to be like ur parents had…. yun lang po.. if u have brain used it if u have no brain but u have talent or skill used it… simple as that…
