September Shopfest
Posted on August 30th, 2008
Having the September Shopfest Philippines 2008 is great for all entrepreneurs as it presents proudly Philippine made products to foreign visitors in our country. Yes indeed, it’s not the foreign brands who are in the, but it’s our local quality brands which the foreigners really prefer. That is something we should all be proud about, and something for us to ponder on to, because ironically, there are lots of Filipinos who take a liking to imported brand instead of our homemade products.
Filipino products are best known around the globe because of its quality yet still surprisingly affordable. If only we can always be consistent with workmanship so that none of our products will the ‘nata-de-coco way’ again.
That is why I believe that the September Shopfest is a great idea. I only hope that small entrepreneurs are also given a chance to participate in it as well, and will be given priority instead of the bigger, more established enterprises. Because this event will eventually open more doors for small entrepreneurs.
This project spearheaded by the department of tourism will advertised all over Japan, Korea, Hongkong and other parts of the Asia Pacific, including India and Spain. Looks like, they’re really keen making this event a success. This will bring the Philippine brand much closer to the global market, should it get the expected turnout.
Although tagged as such, this is not really just a September affair, but a whole year event which is a much better deal for Filipino retailers. The opportunity of being exposed longer to a different market can make up for what is already a saturated domestic market.
Let’s all be proud we are Filipino! Foreigners love our products. We should too.
