Come December 20 and 21, the Philippines will have a chance to watch Filipino-American Ramiele Malubay as she comes home and performs in a homecoming concert together with finalist of the Philippine Idol and Ogie Alcasid at the Aliw Theater in Pasay City.

Ramiele did made the country proud as she became one of the finalists of the Season 7 of the American Idol. Filipinos rooted and supported our 20-year old kababayan during the proceedings of the contest, until she was eliminated from the competition in April 2008.

Unknown to many, before she became a household name by becoming an AI finalist, Ramiele used to be a front act performer for artists like Kuh Ledesma and Martin Nievera during their American tours. But on December, she will be on center stage and topbilling the concert which is dubbed as The Idol Experience: Ogie Sings with the Idols.

Aside from Ogie, Ramiele will perform with the first Pinoy Idol finalists and the indie rock outfit Menaya. This will be a groundbreaking concert as it will be the first time that different singing champions will be featured together, along with the country’s top pop icons.

The producer of the concert is a new production company called The Underground Studio, Inc. (TUGS), this is under the supervision of Brian Sombrero is also the vocalist and guitarist of Menaya. When Brian noticed that Filipino-Americans are lording it over their competitions in singing contests and making it to the top slots, he toyed on the idea of bringing together the Pinoy and American Idols.

This will be Ramiele’s homecoming concert, while it will be a reunion for the Pinoy Idol finalist.

Ramiele’s parents are both Filipino, although she was born in Saudi Arabia, and grew up in Miramar, Florida. She will arrive in the Philippines on December 12. Included in her itinerary would be Polilio, Quezon province, where her father Roger Malubay hails.
