LG KP500: New Touch-Screen Phone from LG Electronics

LG Electronics is yet to expand its clout in the touch-screen phone market as it launched recently the new KP500, a full touch-screen mobile phone. LG is the global leader and technology innovator in consumer electronics.

Since they released their first full-touch screen phone in the market, the Prada Phone, LG has been continuously advancing the touch-screen technology in new phone models to suit different consumer needs. One such model is the LG Viewty, a five-megapixel camera phone with full touch-screen providing complete viewing enjoyment.
Jeff Hong, president and CEO of LG Electronics Philippines said “The feedback we receive from consumers around the world indicate that there are more people who wish to try the latest touch-screen phones,” and because of this they came out with the new LG KP500 which is their answer to deliver a high-quality full touch-screen phone that is easy to use and much easier to afford. “We hope that more people will experience the joy of using the latest touch-screen technology with the LG KP500,” Hong added.
The LG KP500 is a three-megapixel camera which also has an MP3 player, FM radio, calendar, clock and motion-sensor games that are played by turning, flipping, and shifting the handset for a more active and fun gaming experience. The price of this unit is currently pegged at P11,900.
The new unit carries with the latest advancement developed by LG for touch-screen phones. Aside from being slim, stylish and lightweight, it is also a quad-band GSM phone that can be operated in 39 languages. With the three-inch wide screen, the LG KP500 vividly shows icons for easy operation and user interface.
“We optimized the user interface to keep the tactile operations smooth and simple which is necessary when you’re opening up a new technology to a wide group of people,” said Hong.
Other features of this new phone are: an embedded stylus pen concealed in the base that can easily removed for the advance handwriting recognition program, a user interface that allows the user to attach a friend’s photo for the speed dial feature, a QWERTY onscreen keyboard that slides into view when the LG KP500 is held horizontally, and the auto-rotating display which allows proper viewing of images or documents no matter which way the phone is turned.
