I would rather work as a live-in caregiver or nanny in Singapore or Hongkong then later on apply for a job in Canada where I might eventually become a permanent resident and sponsor my family so they can have a better future. Even if the salaries are attractive enough, the culture in the middle east is way too restrictive to one's freedom of movement and there's always a greater risk of being violated in all sorts of ways or even worse, coming home as a "balikbayan box" on your way to the cemetery.

Beware of work in Saudi as nurse. Salary may be withheld or defaulted. Make sure all your papers are translated into English AND Arabic. Do not sign anything you don't understand, especially contracts.
