DHL launched ProViewTM

Posted on March 9th, 2009

DHL has undoubtedly earned the reputation of being the world’s leading express and logistics company because of its efficient and reliable customer service. This has been made even better by providing customers the access to check and monitor their shipments online and in real time.

Introducing DHL ProViewTM,  a web-based tool that will allow customers  to track their shipments in real time at all stages of delivery from anywhere in the world. To be able to access this, customers will be assigned account numbers which they will use to monitor their shipments, instead of airway bill numbers.

Aside from that, customers will also receive proactive updates on their shipment activity via e-mail alerts or SMS messages. This would give them better control over their shipments as they would be able to know when they have been delivered and picked-up.

DHL Express Philippines country manager Ahmad Mohamad said that “the launch of DHL ProViewTM demonstrates our focus on customer satisfaction by placing those needs at the center of our business strategy.”

This service has actually been launched in the US in 2006, its success there prompted DHL to introduce it in the Asia Pacific region. This tool doesn’t limit the tracking access to the sender of the shipment, because up to 1,999 different shipment accounts can be registered for one person. One customer account can be tracked at the same time by different users.

ProViewTM is not the first online tools that DHL has launched. In October 2007, the company was the first in the industry to launch a patented electronic service which is the DHL eMailShip in the Philippines and across markets in Asia Pacific. This online tool enabled the customers to file their shipment details electronically. The process includes preparation of the paperwork offline using either an Adobe Acrobat PDF or Microsoft Excel format, and submitted to DHL via e-mail.
