1,200 employees needed in Mandaue call center
Posted on August 2nd, 2009
Business process outsourcing (BPO) Focus Direct Philippines will opening a service center in Mandaue City and is looking forward to hiring about 1,200 people. Site director Ryan Beattie said, they are encouraging both part-time and full-time employees, including students to apply to their company. Focus Direct Philippines, according to Beattie, is willing to offer working students a 70-percent subsidy for their tuition.
Beattie said they choose to expand in Cebu because “There is just a ton of qualified people in the Philippines especially in Cebu.â€
Focus Direct Philippines is affiliated with Focus Services based in Utah, with major clients including Direct TV, Quest Internet Services and AT&T. it currently has a branch in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental. The company’s expansion in Cebu is proof enough that they are not affected by the global recession because they have a good marketing arm in the United States, said Beattie.
Their office in Mandaue City would be located in Barangay Subangdaku and will have 300 seats each floor. Although they will just use two floors upon initial operation, Beattie said they will hire as many as they can.
The choice of Subangdaku as their next office was due to the number of good schools, communication facilities and layout of the city as among the primary factors. Beattie said layout means easy access for their employees to and from work.
Applicants with previous experiences are preferred, but Vanessa Gay Nang of Focus Human Resources Management office said, they would not close their doors for applicant without prior experience, especially students.
The company will be accepting applicants from August 5 to 15 at the Alpa Suites near the boundary of Sitio Panagdait, Barangay Mabolo, Cebu City and Subangdaku, Mandaue City. The company’s benefits and salaries, Beattie said, are competitive with the other call center firms in Cebu.

How come this article doesn’t contain a website and email address of their HR?
maybe they dont have one
unsa na man update sa hiring sa focus. the lady who interviewed me last 14th of august told me that they will call the applicants being interviewed hired or not.pero karon wala pa gihapon nanawag sa akoa. I think its appropriate to be informed what the real score of our application.aron dili sab ta mag expect kun wala ta madawat.
are you still open for applications?
pls. let us know.
thnx
alvs, don’t u get it?
ur just not qualified.
that’s all
Focus direct cebu HR should provide a contact hotline or an email address for interested possible applicants wherein they can submit there questions or any concerns at all. There aren’t any news feeds from the last article that was released on the first week of August informing potential applicants if the hiring is still ongoing. A visit to the said office at Barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City is an option for us to inquire but would be a waste of time for each and everyone of us if the company is not accepting applicants as of this time. Should this comment get any attention from the HR/management, please enlighten the masses and provide inputs to avoid further complications and chaos. Just a suggestion, any information for the public regarding the subject would best be noticed if posted both in the net and in the daily newspaper. Thank you. -PDLG
