This September, two events considered to be the most highly considered to be the best source of new technology in food processing, packaging and handling machinery and other equipment, will be held organized by Trade Information Marketing and Exhibitions, Inc. (TIME Inc.).

The 2009 AsiaFood Expo (AFEX) and the FoodServe Asia, a yearly event popular for bringing into the country the latest innovations and developments in the food packaging and processing sectors will first have an exhibit of finished goods and products on September 17 to 20 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.

After that, they will be showcasing new technology in food processing, packaging and handling machinery and other equipments on September 23 to 26. On the said date, relevant seminars and demonstrations will also be conducted during the event to further expand the food service knowledge of those who would be participating.

Elmer Fernandez, Trade and Industry Undersecretary and Bureau of Investment managing head, said the AsiaFood Expo remained to be an undisputed venue to showcase the Philippines’ competitiveness in the food sector to world, and at the same time, it brings into the country the latest innovations and developments in food packaging.

Those who have already pledged their support for the said event include international organizations such as US Department of Agriculture, Le Club French Chamber of Commerce, Taiwan Pavilion and Malaysia External Development Corp. Well-know culinary masters from Le Cordon Blue are also expected to be present at the expo to share and demonstrate their techniques and master in the culinary arts.
