Protecting our back
Posted on May 11th, 2010
As we get older, we should watch out for our back, and I am not referring about backstabbing from people we trust. Although we should watch out for those too. But I am really referring to those activities that could give us spinal fracture like lifting heavy objects and some sports that involves rigid physical routine.
This is most especially true when we were never really have been active before and now we want to start a more active life. The sudden change in our activities could take its toll on body and could give a muscle pain back that may not be tolerable.
We must do gradually and not immediately get into a hardcore physical routine. Even if we believe that we are really healthy… even if we are actually healthy. We should give our body, especially our muscles, to adjust to the new routines.
Let’s face it, being older, we are not really as quick as we are and we were younger. And if we are not really careful, we could reach a point that we might need back supports. So let us be careful, do not carry heavy objects that we cannot really bear. Our back is suffering the most.
