Manufactured homes

Posted on July 31st, 2010

The cost of having a house constructed these days are worth a fortune that it is almost impossible for an ordinary breadwinner to have one constructed. There are however available alternatives and solutions for him for such a problem. Manufactured homes are just one of them. I do not know whether these are already available here in our country, but by my understanding, these are like pre-fabricated homes and delivered panel by panel and assembled like a big puzzle – like a Lego house if you may.

I am not sure, but I think I saw on a local TV advertisement that these types of home construction are already being offered here. Maybe we can just search on Google or Yahoo! the clause “Manufactured homes for sale” or “quick install homes” or “pre-fabricated homes” or anything related to those. You get the idea. But make sure that  you are set to Philippine pages otherwise, you might end buying one from other countries. Considering the cost of shipments, taxes and all, you will be paying more than you would have if you have a house specifically constructed.

Of course there could be disadvantages that these New manufactured homes for sale have on their constructed counterparts. For one, there is the concern on durability of the houses. Being an “assembled” home, one can’t help but be weary of its stability – can it withstand the elements? Storms? Strong winds? Floods?

And then, there is also the idea of a house being constructed to your specific preference. Being pre-fabricated, they may not always be one that is exactly what you prefer for your home, specially the interiors.

So be sure to “shop” wisely if you do want to try these manufactured homes. Check the company, look for testimonies from people who have already “bought” them, and ask for guarantees.

Otherwise, you may opt to apply for a housing loan for a house construction. Costly yes, specially with the interests on the loan, but at least you will have peace of mind.
