Larger population can lead to poorer community

Posted on September 29th, 2010

Many said that the Philippines is now over populated but some expert said that the National Statistical Coordination Board’s (NSCB) formula of calculating the population has some miss calculations just like in the 2000 census some in the National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB) has added 146,582 babies in the actual recorded number.

They say that some people are doctoring the formula and the result to push the Reproductive Health Bill (RH Bill) or the other population-control plans to just used it as an issue and excuse.

Does more and more population means the country will face poorer community? Well maybe if the country is facing some crisis and if the country cannot support its larger community. Here in the Philippines it is common to say that we are over populated especially in the Metro Manila area. And it is like it is affecting the local economy because larger population means larger demand.

And because of this demands many small businesses has started and some of it has grown so far. But the fact is larger percent of the population here in the metro manila is in the poorer community. So it is good for some  business that we have a larger population or not? Can the government have the solution to lessen not the population but the poverty?
