The Value of an Email List for Your Direct Sales Business

, / 194 0

Consider your email inbox. It’s likely that many of the messages you receive daily come from businesses you frequently shop and blogs you regularly read. While much of this you may consider spam, aren’t there at least a few promotional emails that you look forward to receiving, that are a welcome addition to your inbox? This speaks volumes to the importance of having an email list for your direct sales business.

If you’re ready to start growing your direct sales business, such as ACN, then it’s time to build an email list.

1. Email Reaches More Customers

If you haven’t already, you need to designate a place on your blog or business page that allows customers to opt-in to receive emails from your business. The ability to compile customer and potential customer email addresses allows you to contact these customers at your will, rather than relying on them to check your social media account or website regularly. Sending a weekly or even daily email to your customers is an easy way to keep in contact and keep your business fresh in their mind.

This way, when they’re ready to purchase a product like the one your offer, your business and your name will be the first that come to mind, meaning you’ll likely get their sale. It also takes the guesswork out of wondering who’s actually seeing your advertisements.

2. Email Is More Personal

Receiving an email with an invitation to purchase a product or shop a sale is always more personal than reading a blanket statement on a social media page, especially if you address the email personally to the recipient or include a unique coupon code for their use. Not every customer may feel comfortable posting questions about your business or product publicly on social media, and email gives them an easy way to contact you to get answers. The more you make a person feel like you thought of them personally when sending an email, the more likely they are to give you their business.

3. Email Leaves You Less Dependent

With the introduction of social media, a platform has been created that allows business owners to connect with more potential customers than ever possible in the past, and share information about goods and services. While social media is beneficial to direct sales, it cannot be considered the end-all for your business advertising. Social media sites, search engines, and every other platform of that kind are owned by someone else, meaning they are constantly changing outside of your control and can be gone in a moment’s notice.

An email account, on the other hand, will remain in your control until you choose to close it.

If you haven’t already, you should definitely consider building up your email list. Doing so will allow you to grow your business faster, and in ways you may never have thought possible.
